AFTER ACCEPTING THE EXISTENCE OF ALLAH, WHAT COMES NEXT?

When a person grasps the existence of God, they are confronted with a question as they witness the countless blessings spread throughout the universe: “Are these so generously bestowed favors given without any purpose?” Clearly, the abundance of blessings surrounding us did not arise by chance; they are the product of a conscious will filled with power and wisdom. Therefore, in the face of this infinite generosity, it stands to reason that humankind has a duty, a responsibility, a response to give.

Think about it: If someone were to give you a priceless gift, wouldn’t you feel a sense of gratitude, a love for the one who presented it? Consider your eyes as an example. Even if you were offered all the wealth in the world, it could not replace a single eye. Yet this eye was given to you at birth. Similarly, your ears, hands, feet, mind, and soul—no material measure can fully express their worth. If all these blessings are freely granted to humans, what does this generous Bestower—who is the owner and creator of everything—expect from us?

Look at the blessings you possess: they all seem to have been given for a specific purpose. The eye is meant to behold the world, to see its beauty, and thus recognize the artistry of its Maker. The tongue is meant to taste and savor the flavors of blessings, thereby understanding the hospitality extended to us. The mind is meant to comprehend the workings of the universe, to perceive the infinite knowledge and will behind all things. The heart, through the spiritual delights of mercy, goodness, and beauty, is meant to love this Creator and turn toward Him. Each of these faculties, abilities, and opportunities serves as a guide, leading a person to the Owner of these blessings.

In this situation, a person’s task is to understand, comprehend, and properly thank for all these given blessings. Gratitude is not merely uttering “Thank you” with one’s tongue. True gratitude is using these blessings rightly and in accordance with the Creator’s intent. If the eye, instead of appreciating beauty and admiring the divine artistry, is misused, then it goes against the purpose of that blessing. Similarly, if the mind, rather than seeking the meaning of creation and reaching the maturity to distinguish between right and wrong, is wasted on frivolous or harmful pursuits, it strays from its intended purpose and value.

The Creator primarily wants a person to know Him, to turn toward Him, and to live guided by divine instruction. This resembles a lawmaker who sets rules to ensure the happiness and harmony of their community. When people follow these rules, they secure both their personal well-being and the social order. What God desires is for humanity to understand the truth, to realize their highest potential, and thus attain true happiness both in this world and the hereafter.

All these blessings are given to prompt people to think, question, recognize, learn, love, and respect. This process reveals that humans are not merely flesh and bone; rather, they have been created for a lofty purpose. Every capability and resource bestowed upon a human is entrusted to them as a trust. Using this trust wisely, carefully, and correctly—showing gratitude, love, and obedience to the Giver—is what is required.

After acknowledging the existence of God, a person will naturally ask: “What does this Creator, who made me, gave me countless blessings, and hosted me in this palace of the universe, want from me?” The answer is clear: He wants you to know Him, to become aware of the blessings He has granted, to use them meaningfully, and to express your gratitude to Him through worship, good character, righteous actions, and sincere intentions.

This is the fundamental principle that gives meaning to human existence, fills one’s inner world with peace, and guides them on the journey both in this world and in the eternal life to come.
